2024 Schedule Changes and Competition News

Dogs

This year will be one big dogfest catering for every dog lovers interest.

The ever popular Kennel Club affiliated Dog Show, which has been a stand out feature of the Honley Show since the very first show back in 1921, is back.

And, for those who just love their dogs, the Springers Dog Show, provides entertainment and fun throughout the day. Keep checking here and on the socials for the information and schedule for 2024.

Light Horses

Check out the brilliant new schedule. 2024 brings a new team, led by Rebecca Brown, and a totally re-vamped schedule. There’s something for every type of horse and pony. Becci is very much looking forward to her first Honley Show. She has worked hard to put together an inclusive schedule, and secure sponsorship offering prize money in all classes. Come along and support her and our great local horse show.

Great News for large livestock competitors

The winners of all large livestock classes are once again invited to take part in the Grand Parade – the grand finale to all traditional agricultural shows, with a chance to add to an already successful day with a 1st prize of £100,
2nd – £50, 3rd – £25

The Grand Parade will take place in the Main Ring at 4pm.

Once again our thanks to our generous sponsor, Bailey Smailes Solicitors, Holmfirth & Huddersfield.

Heavy Horses

To reflect the increased interest in Heavy Horses for riding, especially Clydesdales, Class 7 – Ridden Heavy horses is open to Clydesdales and Clydesdale crosses.

Handicrafts

The Handicrafts Schedule continues to build on last year’s success in promoting inclusivity, diversity and creativity.
