Getting to the show ground

The Honley Show takes place in one of the most picturesque locations of any one day rural show, providing plenty of space, ample parking, and overlooking vast expanses of beautiful countryside from all directions.

The Showground is located at

 Farnley Moor, Farnley Tyas, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. HD4 6UW.

By road

The public car park and entrance is situated off Brockholes Road, Farnley Tyas. Livestock and most exhibitor entrances are off Thurstonland Road.

The site is only 15 minutes from Huddersfield, 30 minutes from Wakefield and within easy access from Leeds, Manchester and other major cities in the region. The village of Farnley Tyas is bounded by the A629 to the west and the A616 to the east. Routes are signposted within a five mile radius.

M1 northbound or from South Yorkshire, from junction 37, take the A628(Penistone) . In approx. 4 miles turn right onto the A629(Huddersfield). After 8 miles approx., turn left off A629 at Kirkburton in the direction of Storthes Hall Student Village /Farnley Tyas.

M1 southbound, At junction 39, cross over motorway onto A636 (Yorkshire Sculpture Park). At Bretton roundabout, take the 3rd exit (Huddersfield). After approx. 11 miles approaching Huddersfield turn left at the traffic lights onto the A629. In approx. 2  miles turn right (Farnley Tyas).

M62 eastbound Junction 23, westbound junction 24 for Huddersfield. Turn anti-clockwise on the ring road. Take the A616 Sheffield (A6024 Holmfirth). In approx. 3.5 miles take the A616 left fork. Almost immediately turn left(Honley Station/Farnley Tyas)

Signs closer to the show field will direct you to one of the car parks or the exhibitors areas. Please follow the signs and directions given by the traffic team.

The large, free, public car park and entrance is situated off Brockholes Road, Farnley Tyas. Livestock and most exhibitor entrances are off Thurstonland Road.

Note – as the roads become congested during the show, a one way system around the show field will be in place from 9.00am.

Please – check your route beforehand as satnav may take you on roads unsuitable for towing vehicles and lorries.

By Bus

Or alternatively, have a traffic hassle free day by making use of the free bus service from Honley village. The buses will leave from Moor Bottom, opposite Trinity Church, from 9.00am on Show Day. The last bus will leave the show site by 6.00pm – please do not miss it.

There is a public bus service from Huddersfield to Farnley Tyas. Please check the relevant public transport websites for routes and timetables.

By Rail

The nearest railway stations are Honley Station and Brockholes Station. Both are approx. 1 mile from the show ground. If using the train to visit the Show, please be aware that the walk from either station is all uphill.
