Moorhouse’s & Honley Show – go together like a horse and carriage!
Tom Moorhouse & Son was established in Honley in 1887 and has worked in various capacities with The Honley Show since our first show on 27th August 1921.
This year we are delighted that the private family run haulage and transport business has very kindly agreed to sponsor the Heavy Horse section at the Show.
Heavy Horses are part of the history of Tom Moorhouse & Son Ltd; in fact it is is how they started, as this picture of Tom Moorhouse with Sally, taken in 1917, shows.
Fred Moorhouse, grandfather to Chris Moorhouse & Josie Galloway the current directors, was President of Honley Show from 1952 until his death in June 1963. He enjoyed many happy times at Honley Show and was always known for wearing a red rose in his buttonhole, which was his trademark.
As well as a shared history, Tom Moorhouse & Son and Honley Show have a shared commitment to their local community, and to providing their customers with a high quality experience in their individual areas.
They have also provided us with a very high quality piece of promotional activity for the show in the form of this great advertising on the back of one their trailers. We really appreciate it when our sponsors help us promote the show like this.
This sponsorship is a wonderful gesture and we are very grateful for their support and delighted to re-invigorate a relationship going back many, many years. We look forward to welcoming them to the Show in June.
