Supporting the community

Thank you to everyone for nominating us for this award. Allen, Katie and Richard received the trophy and a certificate at the Presentation Evening on 6th June, on behalf of the members committee and all the individuals who volunteer their time and energy to support our community.

This is what we do:

Funding for educational projects
This picture shows our President making a donation to ladies from the Colne Valley Museum in Golcar. It is one of several community projects carried out in recent years to help support education about our environment and the countryside.
Funding community projects
Our community extends beyond farmers and agriculture.

Horse riding at Emley, school gardens at Farnley Tyas and 'coffee wagon' in Honley village have each been sponsored by Honley Show
The Honley Show has been part of village life for many years. The Show committee is made up of volunteers who all live in the area. We think it important that the wider community benefits from Honley Show. In recent years as well as sponsoring local schools we have supported a number of other community projects including youth projects in the village, riding schemes for the disabled and promoting the use of local amenities.
Supporting local and national charities
Each year we work with a chosen charity. Last year our selected charity was National Childbirth Trust. In 2011 our chosen charity is The Royal British Legion. Please support all of our charities at their stands at the Show. If you would like your charity to work with Honley Show please speak to one of the committee.
Get in contact with Richard Needham if you would like to discuss further opportunities.
