Next weekend sees one of the West Yorkshire's larger agricultural shows, Honley at Farnley Tyas on Saturday, June 9. It may not have the length of service that many others pride themselves on, being a mere 73 years young. But it has built a strong reputation for bringing something for all the family. For those who don't see the area as being as agricultural as North
Yorkshire, there is a very pleasant surprise in the number of cattle and sheep classes, which more than match that of many of their more northern counterparts. It attracts a five-figure gate too, putting it well up the list in terms of Yorkshire's best-attended agricultural shows, so if you haven't been before, then this is the year to put it right.

This year's Honley Show, set to take place at the Showground, Farnley Tyas, Huddersfield, on Saturday the 9th June, has chosen the Kirkwood Hospice as
its nominated charity for the event. This year is the Hospice's 20th anniversary.

'We are delighted to be associated with Kirkwood Hospice, which does some wonderful work on behalf of residents in the area. Nominating them as our
charity this year acknowledges its contribution to the community and we wish the Hospice ongoing success in all that it does,' states the Chairman of the Honley Show, Jim Purcell.

'We are honoured that the Honley Show Committee has chosen Kirkwood Hospice at its showcase charity in this our very special 20th anniversary year,' states Kirkwood Hospice Community Fundraiser Kate Leadbeater. 'We look forward to welcoming people on the day, supporting and celebrating a great community event and our local Hospice,' she adds.

Now three quarters of a Century old, the Honley Show is one of the North of England's premier outdoor agricultural shows, attracting enormous crowds from all points of the compass.

Designed very much as a family event with something for
